The AI act in practice: What you need to know before deploying AI

AI tools are often deployed in companies before clear rules are in place – whether it's vibe coding, customer chatbots, marketing, testing in HR, and more. From the perspective of the AI Act, it's no longer enough to say in general terms that your company uses "some AI." You need to:

• ​Get a detailed overview: You need to know exactly which tools you use, what they're for, who's responsible for them, what data goes into them, and whether this constitutes high-risk use.
• ​Determine the company's role: You need to recognize whether you're acting as a provider of an AI system, the party deploying AI into operation, or an ordinary user, because the rules differ for each.
• Meet your obligations: All legal obligations depend on the company's specific role and the level of risk involved in the given use of AI.
